With today’s world seemingly set to fast-forward, sometimes it’s refreshing to take a step back and dwell in the past. Wondering how you might do this? We have put together the following day trip agenda:

1. Rent a classic convertible and tie your hair up in a scarf for the drive.

2. Pack an old-fashioned picnic basket lunch (don’t worry about the wine, you’ll be getting it at your destination).

3. Drive south on the 101 and jump onto the Pacific Coast Highway at Las Posas.

4. Follow directions to Malibu Wines in the Malibu Canyon.

5. Allow plenty of time to sit on your blanket and sip some savory wines. If you go on the weekend, live music will keep you entertained as well.

6. As the sun begins to set, follow directions to The Old Place Cornell…just up the canyon.

7. Enjoy the rustic setting and delicious dishes before you cruise back home along the coast.
