Whole Foods Market opens TODAY at State Street and Hitchcock Way, to a warm welcome from Santa Barbarans.  The store, one of more than 170 locations in the US and UK, promises to deliver what they've been delivering since opening their flagship store in 1980:  "...the finest natural and organic foods available, ... the strictest quality standards in the industry, and ... an unshakeable commitment to sustainable agriculture."  Throughout October, Whole Foods will host a series of Grand Opening events including a Local Vendor Celebration on Saturday, October 10th from noon to 3pm, where you'll find out what's local in every department.
 
Eating local just got a Whole lot easier.
