Count On It

Count On It

60,000 plastic bags consumed every five seconds.  2,000,000 plastic bottles used every five minutes.  1,000,000 trees cut down every year.  At the rate we’re going, something’s got to give.  And if the math doesn’t illustrate that point to you, Chris Jordan’s artwork will.  He uses plastic bottles, cigarettes, even Barbie Dolls to create an “American self-portrait” – a collection of beautiful pieces of art that tell an ugly truth about what we waste.

The Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History will exhibit his work through September, hosting an Opening Reception on Tuesday, June 16, from 5pm-7pm.

We only have one world.  Everything counts.
